Ligurian Basin possible extinct ridge

ID: 4-26

Ocean: Marginal basin, Mediterranean Sea
Spreading center type: Proposed backarc basin ridge (Rollet et al., 2002)

Comments:

An extinct spreading center has been proposed in the Ligurian Basin that is inferred from an interpretation of the crustal structure across the basin, based on from seismic reflection studies (Rollet et al., 2002). Due to the lack of a surface trace in either bathymetry or gravity maps this center is not included in our statistical analysis.
